In all fairness, the typical life expectancy of a pleated type cartridge spa tub filter is typically cited as being a dozen months or so by the spa tub and pool industry. In actuality this is more appropriate for a pleated cartridge swimming pool filter, but the assertion has just carried-over to include things like spas tubs as well. The filters are constructed with the same (Reemay) substance but there are several substantial distinctions between a pool and a hot tub environment like high heat.
The quantity of water per person in a tiny home pool is substantially larger than in a hot tub a modest family swimming pool with say 20,000 liters of water shared between a household of six gives more than 3,300 liters for each person, an average 6 seat hot tub or spa using 1,300 liters of water presents just over two hundred liters for each individual – in essence you would need one hundred people in the modest family swimming pool to be comparable to having half a dozen in the hot tub!
